I Have The Power!
Yesterday, on one of my frequent trips to the toys section of the local Woolworths, I spotted that they were selling off some of the older discontinued ranges of the last couple of years. I fought an epic campaign between the sensible part of me that wants to save money and the bit that is constantly after shiny things (yes, sub-parts of Guise A, B and C - I need to name my split personalities better), I walked out with nothing.
After recounting the tale to Tim, my own mother and Dio, they all gave me the same basic message of “why the hell not, fool?”
Today, I needed to get some passport sized photos taken, so well I was out I caved to peer pressure and went back to Woolworths.
No, I’m not taking part in Naked Vlog, you can thank me later!
So, yes, despite not owning any He-Man figures since my childhood I am now the proud owner of resident second-stringers Mer-Man and Ram Man, two of the characters (along with Stinkor) less likely to be invited to the Eternia Summer Buffet and Ball.
Despite having a thrusting action for Mer-Man and a jumping action for Ram Man, and both having fairly nifty weapons, I was surprised to see the main selling feature emblazoned at the top of each pack was “Awesome Sticker Included!”, which I can’t imagine would sway a child one way or another. Telling them that the character has a funky special move might manage it, but stickers?
Granted, I’d have loved to have found a cheap Skeletor, Evil-lyn or Teela, but from the second stringers these two aren’t so bad a find.
What really got me was the price, there’s no arguing really when it gets below £2 each.

Dio, my split personalities are so annoying to catergorise because new one crop up out of different elements, from moodswings to work ethic, which barely overlap at times. Maybe I just need to create mental characters and fit moods to them, rather than fit my personalities to the moods. Normalising splits is tough. XD
Woolworths here is a multiple department store, I guess like a really miniature Target. It has clothes, toys, candy, DVDs, video games, music, housewares, etc.
Heh, the glasses are generic Me-ness, and I needed passport photos for a job interview next week, so thought I’d look smart for them if they’ll be used by the company for ID badges.
Both, my underwear is nowhere near exciting or exotic, I’m afraid. I don’t even own zebra, leopard or tiger print underwear, much to my complete despair!

I usually just name them like children. You’ve seen my blog; I prolly have like 20 different facets of myself. Some overlap, others do not. But each represents an aspect of myself. Its like Herman’s Head, only w/ more hot chicks and less checks on what comes out of my mouth.
As for underwear, someone needs to visit a Frederick’s of Hollywoods. XD

Well, the arc has closed, but there will be a mini-episode coming in the near future, once I sort out things like props and the like. I don’t intend really to make them continual characters, as I’d like something a bit more ‘me’, not sure what that is yet.
I’m still trying to draw, if I could design characters and stuff, this place would possibly be a little stranger…and more characterised.

I’m currently, at this moment, in my Maya class and we’re watching a video about how to model a car. O_O I have never been so confused before……Any wonder why I’m posting here?

Oh, I have a few toys, but surprisingly not that many. The curse of moving away from home and between flats is always having to sacrifice stuff so that you’ve got box space. I’m slowly fixing that, but I’m still hesitant in case my dreams of moving far away come to eventual fruition…y’know, after I win the lottery and pay everything off. v.v;;;

LOL, I’ve been working my way thru your older stuff (as evident), and believe me, I’m wondering why i just don’t do a webcomic for you; prolly cuz 1) i suck at drawing ppl unless its either in anime style or animal crossing style (Adventures of Diz and Lex on my DA), and 2) i’m busy w/ the last stretch of classes this semester.

Heh, your style is cute though, both the anime and animal crossing. One of my problems is, if I try to sketch I always press too hard, so I can’t do light outlines to build shapes.

I press too hard too, if you squint at my sketches, you can see my erased lines.
I was jut discussing bra cup sizes w/ friends right now, and I said in Japan, I qualify as a B cup (since their cup sizes are one size down form ours), but in a technical sense as I am a AA for most bra companies (under an A T_T), I might acutally be an A cup too.
At that point, my friend said, “No, Dio, you’re a Fail Cup.”
I need better friends. XD;;;;

Someone tried a digital coloring of one of my sketches and he kept complaining about my line quality. XD You be the judge (his coloring took 5 minutes, then he gave up).

Well, the line quality is surely something an inker could fix if they were keen set on it. I still like the pictures anyway, even if there is a firm, yet rubbery, round-ended object. You dirty, dirty young lady.

XD Its a bat for crying out loud! It saddens me that I haven’t had the time to ink it properly, since its bar none the best Ness I’d ever drawn (and the first), and its so damn dynamic. I’ve been struggling over another one, and its just not there yet; I can’t get the subtle looks that his in-game model has in my style. When he flicks his cap, its so damn cool, and I can’t replicate the emotion the way I draw…..T_T
The other one is that look of horror as he realizes he’s left Lucas in the open. Ness doesn’t have many facial features but fuck me if he doesn’t have that subtlety of emotion that only real artists can have.

1) Split personas for me are named, and funnily enough, most of them start w/ a D w/ the exception of Lex, whom I named so cuz….well, its a cool name.
2) You still have Woolworths? Ours all closed dow years ago (but ours were like stationary and office supply stores, so they’re prolly 2 different chains).
