Lacking A Personal Advent-ure
- [Wii-kun and boy who is still lacking a name sat on the couch, Brawl-ing]
Dugal Dugal: Ok, Wii-mote Boy…
Wii-kun: Um, Wii-kun?
Dugal: Uh-huh, sure…listen you, you’ve been selected for a mission of utmost importance.
Wii-kun: Can it wait, I’m kind of in the middle of something?
boy: Wii-kun is teaching me smashes, onee-san!
Dugal: What?! How come I never get to play and you always hog it, but when Shota turns up…
Wii-kun: I thought Guise said we weren’t to call him Shota…
Dugal: Guise says a lot of stuff! I can’t be expected to listen to all of it!
Wii-kun: Try any of it…
Dugal: Well, I listened to this. Guise wants you to earn your place here by helping out the Advent-urers.
Wii-kun: The who?
Dugal: It’s a long story…look here, here and here.
Wii-kun: H…How do you speak in hyperlinks?!
Dugal: I just do, ok?! Now, Guise needs you to head out and find the Advent Calendars that will be come to power this year, rather stupidly he didn’t order them or prepare in anyway, but that’s your problem now.
boy: I thought you were menna do that job, onee-san
Dugal: Buh, shh, Shota…um, I have other, more vital duties to attend to…yeah. And I can’t leave Shota here all alone, Wii-kun, how irresponsible do you think I am?
Wii-kun: Jam. Still In Jar. In Microwave. “So it doesn’t cool the toast when spreading”.
Dugal: Dammit. From this point on, no remembering anything…that’s an order.
Wii-kun: Order? Who put you in charge?!
Dugal: I get seniority. When Guise is out, incapacitated or locked in the basement, I take control. It’s really simple chain of command, see if something happens to me then, hm, well if Pal is around he gets a go as boss, then Shota and then you…
Wii-kun: Wait, Sho…the boy…first?! Why?!
Dugal: Seniority, he got a speaking role before you. By the way, I always thought you’d sound…well, a lot more entertaining. Now, get going…I want those Advent Calendars by the first of December!
Wii-kun: Tommorrow?! When did Guise tell you?
Dugal: Couple of days ago, but I like to make sure deadlines are actually motivational…and the shorter they are, the more motivated you are to do them.
Wii-kun: Panicked is not the same as motivated! It’s nearly 10 o’clock on a Sunday night!
Dugal: Well somebody, Wee Willy Winkie, should have thought about that before they neared the deadline, shouldn’t they? No use complaining about it now, just cos you haven’t left yourself enough time.
Wii-kun: …I am so Falcon Punching your face when Guise gets home.
Dugal: Good for you…now chop-chop, and leave the wii-mote.
I’m not quite sure why I’ve been sorely tempted to cover old characters and new lately, I blame Christmas and over-excitement.
Anyway, yeah, I had planned to get myself a Playmobil or Lego advent calendar this year, but they are damnably hard to get in stores here and – for once – it was inconvenient to order one online. However, I will have an Advent Calendar tomorrow. I will and I must!
I’m not going to even plan regular updates over Christmas, I tried at Halloween and failed miserably, and I know other then coming month, and in fact until part way through January, I will be busting my butt at work as one of the few in other the holiday period. I’ll still be stopping in to write and to take part in the X-Entertainment Box 23 stuff, but I’m sure that I’ll be hard pushed to do much of note this year. I really need to look at what I’m doing next year with this place, I don’t want it to descend down to LiveJournal standards.
On Box 23, the calendar starts tomorrow and I’m excited. I’m not sure how much longer the Advent-urers Assemble story will go on. I like writing it, but between it and the hint site, time is fleeting for both and being able to do ‘chill out’ stuff.
But in the spirit of Winter and monsters who will devour us all, we should finish on a musical number.
i love your philosophy on deadlines…that’s all that works for me too
…well, what usually happens is “holy crap, that was for last week?!”
